HackIndy 2026: Vigil

Participated in HackIndy 2026, a premiere hackathon bringing together builders, engineers, and designers to create innovative solutions.

I collaborated with two others (linkedin.com/in/seno67/, linkedin.com/in/nikhilxkolli/) over three days to architect and develop Vigil, a full-stack real-time emergency intelligence platform that lets communities report and track active emergencies on a live 3D Mapbox map, with AI-powered report validation via the Gemini API, geotagged community Flares tied to specific buildings stored in MongoDB, and a dynamic emergency overlay UI that transforms the entire interface when an incident goes active.

Focused on building a seamless user experience while ensuring robust backend performance. Gained valuable hands-on experience in rapid prototyping and agile development.

We didn't place because our pitch emphasised on the features Vigil had that were very similar to Citizen (citizen.com). However, we were proud of the fact that we built a working prototype in under 24 hours. This was my first hackathon, and a super fun experience overall.
